Before You Ask
Questions Event Planners Ask
- How long is a corporate comedy set?
- Sets run 10 to 60 minutes. Twenty minutes works for an awards dinner between presentations. Forty-five is standard for a conference keynote slot or a holiday party where comedy is the main event.
- What does "clean comedy" actually mean?
- No profanity, no sexual material, no political content, and no crowd work that puts an attendee on the spot in front of their colleagues. Corporate sets are written to be safe for a mixed-age, mixed-seniority room with HR in the audience.
- Do you customize material for our company?
- Yes. Custom material comes out of a short call before the event, where Sheryll collects the internal references, running jokes, and names the room will recognize. Company-specific bits get woven into the set rather than replacing it — a set made entirely of inside jokes stops landing by minute six.
- Why book a comedian who is also a real estate agent?
- Sheryll holds an active North Carolina real estate license and has sold with Marti Hampton Real Estate and DASH Carolina in the Raleigh market. For real estate conferences, brokerage retreats, and REALTOR association events, that means the material comes from inside the job instead of from a comedian’s guess at it.
- What kinds of events do you perform at?
- Real estate conferences, corporate retreats and off-sites, award dinners and galas, company holiday parties, association meetings, and private events such as milestone birthdays and retirement parties.
- How much does it cost to book Sheryll Wade?
- Corporate bookings start at $750 for a 30-minute set. A 45-minute set is $1,000 and a full hour is $1,500. Events inside North Carolina have no travel charge; outside the state, travel and hotel are added to the booking.
- Is travel included in the price?
- Inside North Carolina, yes — there is no separate travel charge. For events outside North Carolina, travel and hotel are added on top of the performance fee.
- How far in advance should we book?
- Two weeks is the minimum lead time. Longer is better for events that need custom material, since that comes out of a pre-event call.
